We didn't know Sasquatch had a Yelp account. Honestly, we didn't know Sasquatch had WiFi. But there it was — a five-star review, posted at 3:14 AM on a Tuesday, from a user named "BigSasq_PNW."
The review read: "Found this coffee on a trail in the Cascades. Two hikers left a bag behind. Dark roast. Strong. No weird aftertaste. Finally a coffee that doesn't taste like it was made for people who are afraid of flavor. Five stars. Will return to the trail."
We flagged it for Yelp to verify. They said the account was legitimate. They also said they couldn't confirm the reviewer's species, which is apparently not a field in their system.
We framed the review. It's hanging in the roastery.
We've since started leaving bags on that trail on purpose. Call it a sampling program. Call it a marketing strategy. Call it leaving coffee for Sasquatch in the Cascades — whatever helps you sleep at night.
