Mothman stealing Foxhole Coffee S'mores blend from the roastery loading dock

Mothman's Midnight Craving: The Night He Stole Our S'mores Coffee

Nobody warned us about Mothman having a sweet tooth.

It was a Tuesday night — always a Tuesday — when the incident happened at our roastery. The security camera caught it all. 11:47 PM. The parking lot lights flickered. A massive shadow crossed the roof. And then, with the precision of a creature who had clearly done this before, Mothman descended directly onto the loading dock.

He ignored the single-origins. Passed right by the dark roasts. Didn't even glance at the Ethiopia Yirgacheffe.

He went straight for the S'mores Coffee.

Now, we can't say we blame him. Our S'mores blend is a medium roast with notes of toasted marshmallow, rich chocolate, and just enough campfire smokiness to make you feel like you're sitting around a fire in the West Virginia hills — which, coincidentally, is exactly where Mothman is from. Homesick? Maybe. Discerning? Absolutely.

He took three bags. Left a single black feather on the dock. No note. No apology.

We've since installed better locks. We've also started leaving a bag out on the loading dock every Tuesday night, just in case. It's gone by morning.

Some say Mothman is an omen of disaster. We say he's just a creature with excellent taste in coffee.
