It's been a month. Here's the official summary.
Mothman (our loading dock, every Tuesday): Still coming at 11:47 PM. Brought a friend last week. Our regular is now drinking Ethiopia Yirgacheffe. The new one takes the S'mores. Both bags gone by morning. We've stopped locking the dock on Tuesdays.
Bigfoot (Olympic Peninsula, multiple visits): Found his camp. Left him Dark Roast; he left us a pinecone. Found his letter to his dad. Left him two bags and a note. We drove home quieter than we arrived. The arrangement continues.
The Beast of Bray Road (our farmers market booth): Comes every third Saturday. Always Dark Roast. Always exact change. Always leaves without looking back. We save him a spot at the front of the table.
The Wampus Cat (Smoky Mountains): Three cups of S'mores Coffee. No bad omens. Walked back into the dark. We consider this a win.
The Lizard Man (Scape Ore Swamp boat landing): Morning person. Watched the sunrise with us for three hours. Refilled from the thermos. Walked back into the swamp without a word. We left the thermos.
Nessie (Loch Ness, via website): Upgraded to expedited shipping. The Yirgacheffe is no longer "under investigation" — she ordered six bags.
The Ozark Howler (customer service line): Called about a missing order. We reshipped immediately. He said the Dark Roast was "acceptable." We consider that a five-star review.
The Fouke Monster (Miller County gas station): Buys Dark Roast and S'mores weekly. Exact change. The gas station manager says he nods on the way out.
The Cryptid 5K field (Pacific Northwest): Sasquatch ran bib #601. G. Swamp finished top five. Mothman glided the whole course. Best sponsorship we've ever done.
